Recently, the United States "Chemical Weekly" (Chemical Week) released the latest version of the global chemical company $3 billion club's latest ranking. It is reported that the list is ranked according to the sales revenue of chemical business in 2018. The
list shows that a total of 102 chemical companies have entered the 2019 Global Chemical $3 billion Club. Among them, Dow DuPont, after the merger of Dow Chemical and DuPont, ranked first with $85.977 billion in sales revenue, Sinopec ranked second with $79.467 billion in sales revenue, and BASF retreated to third with $72.04 billion in sales revenue.

In this year's ranking, a total of 15 Chinese companies were shortlisted, Sinopec ranked second, Formosa Plastics Group fourth, Hengyi Petrochemical 32nd, Wanhua Chemical 45th, Hengli Petrochemical 47th, Shanghai Petrochemical 51st, Rongsheng Petrochemical 52nd, Tongkun Group 64th, North Huajin Industrial Company 74th, Sinochem Group 76th, xinfengming Group ranked 88th, Salonda Group 95th, Jinfa Technology 96th, Shanghai Huayi 99th and Yangmei Chemical 102nd.
In the national distribution, the United States has 27 chemical companies with revenues of more than US $3 billion, ranking first; Japan has 17 companies ranking second; China has 15 companies ranking third; Germany has 10 companies ranking fourth.

The median also maintained steady growth, up 9% year-over-year to $7.6 billion. Thirty-four companies saw a decline in operating profit last year, while only four saw a decline in sales, and the median profit margin for chemical companies was 11.9 percent, compared with 11.7 percent in 2017.
107 companies entered the 3 billion Club last year, five fewer this year, and these differences may be due to changes in company reporting practices, corporate reorganizations, mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. In addition, some companies with a large chemical business failed to make the list because they did not disclose their chemical business sales revenue, including ChemChina, Koch Industries, Shell, Total, etc.
